Gisteren heb ik meegedaan aan de 'Wereld Pers Foto Groningen' Fotomarathon. Gedurende de dag ontvangen deelnemers via hun mobiel 5 opdrachten van 3 kwartier ieder, met als centraal thema 'Natuur in de Stad'. Daarnaast was er een lezing door fotograaf Renze Dijkema en werd een film vertoond van bioloog en cineast Hilco Jansma opgenomen in het Noorderplantsoen van de stad Groningen. Daar heb ik ook de meeste foto's gemaakt met de achtereenvolgende opdrachten 'Guerilla Green', 'Abstract', 'Groene Oase', 'Macro' en 'Onbetaalbaar'. Helaas geen prijzen, maar toch een leuke dag omdat er veel van de creativiteit wordt gevraagd. Mijn inzendingen vind je hier.
Yesterday I participated in the Photomarathon organised by the Groningen 'World Press Photo' foundation. Participants receive 5 instructions of a theme to photograph in the next 45 minutes. Each one of the images should also fit the central theme of the day: 'Nature in the City". Next to that there was a lecture by photographer Renze Dijksma, and a movie by biologist and cinematographer Hilco Jansma was shown. The movie was shot entirely in the 'Noorderplantsoen' ("Northern Park") which lies in the center of the City of Groningen. It is also the place that I took most of my shots with the consecutive sub themes: 'Guerilla Green', 'Abstract', 'Green Oasis', 'Macro', and 'Priceless'. No prices this time, but nevertheless a wonderful day of photography asking a lot of once's creativity. My entrances are shown here.

Zaterdag 23 juli organiseert de afdeling Groningen van world Press Photo een Fotomarathon in de stad Groningen. Van 9:00 tot 18:00 met je hobby bezig, leuk! Thema is dit keer 'Natuur in de Stad'. Aanmelding kan nog via de website.

Het is gelukt! Het kostte wat moeite, maar de website werkt weer en nieuwe foto's zijn geplaatst. Na een aantal jaren dus weer nieuwe beelden in de categorieën mensen, natuur, cultuur en reizen. Ik ben benieuwd naar jullie reacties.
At last! It took me some time but the website is active again en new images have been uploaded. After a number of years (sic!) you will find new catalogues under people, nature, culture and travel. Hope to hear from you.

Een nieuw initiatief in Ten Boer: er wordt een heuse fotoclub opgericht. Zie ook Facebook. De eerste bijeenkomst is donderdag 14 juli; de officiële oprichtingsvergadering is na de zomervakantie. Belangstelling? Wees welkom, je kunt je belangstelling laten blijken via de Facebookpagina.

Sinds kort heb ik een nieuwe lens: de EF-L 300 mm f2.8. Plus een 2x MKIII Extender. Tezamen dus 600 mm f5.6. En dat betekent oefenen, oefenen, oefenen... Nu hebben wij een pindasilo voor zangvogels buiten in de tuin. Een ideaal oefenobject.
Recently I purchased a new lens; de Canon EF-L 300 mm f2.8. Plus a 2x Mk III Extender. Together they make a 600 mm f5.6 lens. Which means practice, practice, practice... Fortunately, in our backyard we have a peanut silo for the birds. Ideal.
